Simple fact is in many sports - instant replay, or in some peoples words - "modern technology" has been a valuable tool... Nascar is about as convenient of a topic of modern tech as play stations and not near the topic of griffy as a player/retiree.. within a thread related to a bad call and one that caused harm to a player.

Thankfully, the two most professional attitudes to hit baseball at a time MOST needed. As Randy mentioned about it unfortunately happening to a real genuine ump versus some of the crap type... I agree that was unfortunate - though the BEST of the worst situation came out of it... in that sense - I think it was good those two were the victims of this inability to have INSTANT REPLAY. a means to keep baseball true to the game...

Correct. I agree with that statement and thus the need to ensure proper accounting for such an event as this is concluded... those mentioned are factual actions of the game... no need to destroy an action by an addressed accidental call that should be able to be corrected - had an ump been able to evaluate a call of such magnitude.
