Attack on the Feds independence

That very well might be the case. My knowledge of the law is very limited and I would defer to those who are professionals in that field to have a better response. The warrant issue is fairly low on my list of issues I have with the approach and method currently being used.

How do you feel about the reduction in training and requirements for ICE? I don't like reduced training for ANYONE (nurse, teacher, mechanic, etc.), let alone someone who professionally carries a gun. I can see they feel the need for an increase in number of agents, but lack of training and vetting is a concern...to put it mildly.
Its not just that...which could be alleviated to an extent by pairing green new folks with experienced well trained ones...its how they are recruiting new agents.

Full on soldier of fortune recruiting stuff. Which attracts the type of people who want to get paid by abusing people and ignoring rights.

Jesse Welles covers this well.

Wall Street Journal is reporting....ICE agents are being given daily arrest quotas.

Had to give up on reading this thread a while ago, but am surprised no one pointed this out before now. If I recall from the article when I read it the other day, isn't 3K arrests per day for all of ICE, up from the 1K or whatever it was previously? No doubt had an impact. Possible that certain people get bonuses or spiffs for meeting their local area quotas, or meeting such daily quotas X number of days in a row.

I think 4 years of college was stupid to need to do my job. 2 would have been sufficient. Id guess similar cuts could be made to training in this sense. As with any gov job theres a lot of BS hoops to complete. Hopefully thats what got nixd
It would appear the training about not trampling people’s Constitutional Rights is what got nixed. Which apparently some don’t consider a big deal.

Except at the end of the day, this puts the entire operation in shaky legal ground, and will result in an inordinate amount of lawsuits and settlements, which will be paid for with my tax dollars. Great, more fraud, waste and abuse. Seems instead of actually reducing those things, we’ve just found harsher and more cruel ways to kick it into overdrive.

I would rather have fewer, well trained, highly effective and efficient officers making good cases than a bunch of thugs leaving an avalanche of legal cases and lawsuits in their wake. Even the federal officers I know, many of whom have been very supportive of this immigration effort, are raising some eyebrows and expressing misgivings about the legality of this warrant thing. To me, that’s very telling.

Uh, No wealth is Not equally & equitably distributed ..... where does it say that it is suppose to be??
I don't know about you, but I was raised to know that stealing is wrong.
I don’t doubt that but maybe not raised to realize when someone else is stealing from you

ICE agents are getting $100k a year plus the arrest bonus.
If that is fact, pretty good incentive to crack heads with full immunity. Wonder what other incentives Kristi girl has going?
This ICE business should outrage every American, and not just because your local taco bus has been shut down.
The interpretation of patriotism sure is blurred.

I mean, it’s bad when it’s illegals in your town. Also bad when it’s your President. And Congress. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What was that you were saying about accountability? Because it sure seems like accountability is pretty selective. *cough - release the files- cough*
Looks like the typical Washington cat and mouse game to me. This is encouraging though.

Inside Democrats' stunning revolt on holding Bill Clinton in contempt https://share.google/MCwcTNBSgDiNJaMGp

This is the tell.
"Predicted a third House Democrat who spoke anonymously: "Now that you had nine people from the committee vote for it, how do you lock this down now? This was a total miscalculation."

I sent a link to some HT friends, where it was portrayed that the only logical conclusion for the continued vehement support for the completely unAmerican actions we are witnessing is that people have equated politics to identity, and people do not question their own identities. Therefore, nothing their chosen political party does can be wrong, else their identity is wrong.

What concerns me is that the left will continue to try to restrict gun rights; however, we have a constitutional amendment to protect that right, that has been mostly effective so far, but if we allow an erosion of another constitutional right in the name of #winning, then we've just set the precedent for the erosion of all of our constitutional rights.

According to some on here that is to restrictive as it is..... we have to show ID to purchase guns according to some showing ID when we have a constitutional right to bear arms is un American.. or is that only when it applies to something they agree with or disagree with.....

Just think of where we'd be without it being an explicit constitutional amendment? Australia if we're lucky.
...
Completely off topic, which seems to be where we are anyway, here is what I'll propose, is a good example of long-form journalism.

Within it are a couple of phrases that I found relevant to this current convo.
"...the near irresistible temptation humans feel to become convinced of the correctness of their positions. But certainty is incompatible with democracy..."
"open inquiry requires three premises: Any claim can be questioned, questioning something doesn’t mean it’s wrong, and exploring an idea that someone thinks is odious doesn’t mean that someone wants to sign onto it. The paradox of democracy is that it can undo itself. One can exercise their free speech to advocate against free speech or use their vote to elect someone with authoritarian impulses. That’s the price of civil liberties."

"Try"...... they Are doing it every day.....
"mostly been effective".....not in this state.... & many others.
The 2nd Amendment protects all of the others. It is being infringed upon at every turn & every legislative session.
