I just got it confirmed that the Navajo tribe has reclaimed the Boquillas ranch in north western Arizona. That saves about 1.3 million acres of prime elk country from development. It had been sold to a developer from Scottsdale, who appearently forfeited on the deal. That means that Homer and Jethro's cousins and prodgeny will all have plenty of feed and water right where they were. No need to move.

What are you talking about? You been smokin' April's old socks again?? They've never charged fees for Boquillas...They can't. Most of it is State, BLM, or Reclamation land.

Dan....SSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

There are no Elk in unit 10. Units 7, 8, and 9 are much better choices. Unit 10 is dry, with no cover and very little feed. Don't apply for a bull tag in unit 10.

Del, if that's how it reads, then I misstated. The Navajo tribe has owned Boquillas ranch for years. When we were shooting dogs up there, they owned it. Two years ago, they sold the ranch or agreed to sell the ranch to Sam Stieger from Prescot Valley. He intended to take all of the land that was under deed and turn it into "ranchettes". For whatever reason the deal fell through. The Boquillas is back to being a working cattle/horse ranch and everything is as it was before.

AND FOR THOSE READING THIS, THERE ARE NO ELK ON BOQUILLAS RANCH. HELL, THERE ARE NO ELK IN UNIT 10 AT ALL.........
