The awning on our travel trailer self-destructed on our April trip to AZ. Have spent hours reading up about replacing the awning fabric. Finally ordered replacement awning fabric after checking quality and prices at local RV shops. Prices ran from 560-660 including install. Me being cheap decided to dig in this morning and get it done with the awning fabric for under 250. I was just a little bit worried about taking the spring tension off and the re-wind, but decided to give it a go. Took about three hours with coffee breaks to get it done with the help of my wife a couple of times. Figured I should be able to do one now in 1 1/2 hours if there is a next time. Bottom line- Wife said to put a 150 in my hunting account!!!!

Awning after we installed on the trailer and let some of the wrinkles settle out.

A storm blew through a couple of weeks ago that destroyed my vinyl fence gate. Had a couple of fence guys come by and give bids to fix it and they wanted $500. Did it myself for $150, and just like you I get to pocket the difference and save up for a scope to put on my new Tikka.

Although, to Big Fin's point I did miss going fishing on the Blackfoot River Saturday because I was busy playing handyman.

Did you stick some pins into the holes in the end of the tube where the tension spring is? The owners manual that came with mine shows where to stick them in to hold tension.
Another question I have is whether the awning slides into the channel that holds it on both ends easily. I am curious because my awning needs replacing and I am also "frugal."
Who did you order the replacement from?
