Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

That is an excellent objection. In short, tariffs are the tool the US is using to 'balance trade'. The stated intent is to get others to lower their tariffs on us; leverage removal of bans against our products, negotiate purchase of more US products, and (as they said) leverage changes in labor practices.
Yes that’s the idea. For example John Deere or Cat, they make in the USA and export to other countries with a tariff on it to help another country “ compete”. However the net negative is if Deere and cat use imported steel instead of US steel. That’s just a snap shot.

US companies manufacturing in the United States with materials sourced domestically will feel little of these waves. It’s where I’m putting my money.

Don't forget to consider duty drawbacks, substantial transformation and tariff engineering all of which could change the equation as well as lobbying for tariff exemptions which I'm guessing are likely to happen to companies the decision maker likes.

When another bottom hits, I plan to double down on TMFC as a replacement to my portion in SP500 index etfs. I’ve been a subscriber for over 15 years and beat the markets every year from my collective, individual stock picks as a DIY investor based on Motley Fool recommendations. These rec’s aren’t from their free articles but from the “Stock Advisor” paid subscription. (The free articles are not consistent with the paid services.)

Here’s a comparison for tmfc vs Sp500:

I still have a cautious element and still maintain a diversified portion in funds.

Today is the day my gains are long term. Do I move it over to a steady dividend fund? Let it ride as my exposure in the grad scheme is insignificant or sell portion and buy some 10x42 NL Pures?
Today it is back to the price from this post. What did you do?

Can't begin to explain how much Alex Karp makes my skin crawl.

I held, but was really really tempted to sell Friday and yesterday when they were kicking around 52 week highs. My exposure ins't crazy, but my gains are healthy.....all the talk and momentum lately had me second guessing. They raised guidance, but those concerns about international growth are real too.

Still sitting on 400% gain. #hogsgetslaughtered
