Wish I hadn't sold my m77 .243A package showed up today. Retro this year. I haven’t shot the .243 since I took my daughter elk hunting in WY years ago. I think I’ll give it a workout this year.

My wife drew a good pronghorn tag here at home. I told her she had the pick of my rifles or I could hurry and get her Ruger M77 tanger in 6mm ready for her. Her dad got that rifle for her so she could hunt with him for a few years. First season using it since he passed. She made the right decision and now I have a modern scope to mount and a load to work up. She’s got a cooler rifle than I do at this point.Wish I hadn't sold my m77 .243
Fun little gun.

I shot quite a few deer and antelope with mine. Botched a shot on an antelope with a stiff cross wind and decided I needed something larger so picked up my Sendero in 25.06.My wife drew a good pronghorn tag here at home. Does it get old carrying the sendero for that type of hunt? I have a similar 22-250 heavy barreled remington. It never balances quite right now matter how you carry it it seems.I shot quite a few deer and antelope with mine. The action on that .243 was silky smooth. Dumb move to trade it off, along with an SKS, for a top notch fly rod...which I later sold.
Dumb. We all have those same regrets.I shot quite a few deer and antelope with mine. Botched a shot on an antelope with a stiff cross wind and decided I needed something larger so picked up my Sendero in 25.06.

I’m going to try Nosler 95 grain ballistic tips. What bullet are you going with?
Threads like this make me want to encourage my love of old rifles and buy something old-school cool this next year when I’m rifle shopping. I keep going back and forth on whether I go with something very utilitarian with modern materials or old and build the scratches in the stock as I go! Thanks for posting!
As crisp as a 34 degree can of PBR.How crisp is the lettering?
Not really. I used to hunt antelope every year, now its every third year. So IF I draw a tag, I'm pretty excited to take the Sendero out.Does it get old carrying the sendero for that type of hunt?
