Football without pads or the forward pass. What are those guys doing? mtmuley
NFL football with pads is way more brutal than that. Got a big deal up in Missoula every year for that game. Never been. And I like football. And beer. mtmuleyFootball without pads or the forward pass.
I don’t like to compare the two sports- just leads to arguments. But the players are just as big, run just as fast (or faster), then have to make tackles. Play with the same players the entire game, maximum of 8 substitutions. Oh, and blocking isn’t allowed, either.NFL football with pads is way more brutal than that. Maybe the protective equipment leads to the violent collisions. Being here pretty much my whole life I probly should experience Maggotfest. mtmuleyI don’t like to compare the two sports- just leads to arguments. Missoula Maggotfest is fun. Folks from all over the country (and international). Lots of beer. The people tend to be about as weird as you’d expect, but everybody has a good time.
Leading with your helmet and targeting the head is the biggest issue. Far less concussions and CTE in rugby.Maybe the protective equipment leads to the violent collisions. Being here pretty much my whole life I probly should experience Maggotfest. mtmuley
That part amazes me. Especially since the leading with the head has been virtually non existent in today's NFL. When I played in the 80's it was taught. mtmuleyLeading with your helmet and targeting the head is the biggest issue. Far less concussions and CTE in rugby.
When your head isn’t protected, you learn to keep it out of harms way. That part amazes me. Especially since the leading with the head has been virtually non existent in today's NFL. When I played in the 80's it was taught. mtmuley
That’s what I tell people that have never played…you have to remember that YOUR tackling without pads also!!!When your head isn’t protected, you learn to keep it out of harms way.
