$49.44

With the current rate of taxation, I do not see that happening for anyone living middle class or better.

how so? My wife and I are "living middle class or better" and she hasn't worked in 20+ years - we live on what I make and she spends it!!

Years ago I made the decision to become more self reliant from the grocery stores. When I see stuff like this I feel it was well worth all the hard work. I will add it's also given me a new perspective our nation's food industry needs a complete reworking from the ground up. If I can't grow it, raise it or, find it locally sourced I probably don't need it and that includes coffee (I know break out the pitchfork he dosen't drink coffe). Those increases aren't going to the people raising and growing your food. I sold 120 eggs this weekend, ate my own beef and asparagus, and spent hours on my garden. The more reliant you are on a system the less control you have over it.View attachment 275179
honestly, it's an effort we should all attempt. Even if we don't all buy waterbottle seeds.

Should but most aren't interested in the hard work it takes to do so. I was raised by people who grew a garden and raised livestock or they didn't eat as kids. My parents raised themselves above those circumstances but never forgot and taught us how to grow, can, butcher, along with many other aspects forgotten by a large chunk of society. 20210304_200720.jpg20190603_103447.jpg20200703_105523.jpg20210724_111649.jpg20210731_114237.jpg

Clearly not from a zone 4 garden. Nice haul, I’m jealous.

I discovered the other day a pint of Ben and Jerry’s is a dollar cheaper at target than the grocery store. It’s probably a good thing my wife is about done with work trips this year and thus my cheat meals also
