What bullet would you load for black bear?shooting a Ruger auto carbine.

I'm shooting a Ruger Mdl96 with white box Win 240 JSP's. I see no reason to switch just because it's a black bear and not a big Ohio whitetail.
 
I used a Hornady 240 Grain XTP on a deer. Dropped dead in her tracks.

I think Black Bears die easier than deer from what I have read.
 
240GR JHP. . .deadly!! Deerfield Carbine? ( I have 2 and wouldn't trade for the world)
 
Glad most recommend 240 grain bullets as I have a bunch of them around.
Planning on loading H110. Somewhere around 22.5 -24 grains. will start with the 22.5 grains. trying to decide what primer to use.

I would stick with jacketed bullets in the 240 grain range. I don't think lead bullets (even hard ones) are recommended for the Ruger due to it being gas operated. I had one quite a few years ago, and I recall at the time that people were having problems with the gas port getting crap in it from the lead bullets, leading to malfunctions.
