300WSM 150gr for elk?

Is a 300WSM 150gr bullet big enough for a bull elk

150 is plenty provided it is the right bullet. At 300 WSM velocities, Id go with something like a Partition or Barnes TTSX.
 
Every elk I have killed has been with 150 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips shot out of my .270. All but one elk dropped instantly, the other went about 10 yards before piling up. It goes back to confidence in your ability and not overextending what you or the gun can do. There are a lot of elk shot every year with 100 grain bullets out of a .243
 
In january I shot a cow elk with a 300wsm 150 grain ballistic tip at 300 yards. She dropped within 30 yards.... If it's good enough for the ladies, it's good enough for the gents....
 
My last elk was killed with a ballistic silvertip 150gr out of my 7mm Remington mag traveling 3000fps I recovered the bullet I should weigh it. If I can find it again. But it held together just fine
