3/4 ton 4x4 recommendations

Who takes their spotting scope, and window mount with them when checking out a new vehicle?

Just to see if this is going work?

It seems a little odd that an ATV and a trailer would put you above your GVWR, but I don't know your setup. As far as a new 3/4 ton diesel, I'd rather be cummin' than strokin'

I wonder is he talking GVWR or GCWR.

This.
What does the sticker on your drivers door of your current Ford say?
Sounds like a 3/4 ton would be overkill for what you need, especially to get the diesel.

Im biased towards Ram but the new ones are full of problems being a new generation. They need to iron out the issues. Just got rid of a newer chevy for an older 4th gen ram. Chevy towed better but was expensive to fix all of its little issues. I concur that chevy needs its def kept more than half full or it has issues. Ram is better off road.

From the few fords I have driven, they were really nice, just expensive. Never towed with one. On any of the choices, you will not feel a 20' trailer with a diesel. I hardly feel my 30' trailer. Stay away from a 1500, just under powered, bed capacity and gas mileage will suffer. You could do a gas 2500 but mileage again will suffer.
The 3 liter duramax 1/2 ton gm trucks get good mileage. Max tow rating rivals older 3/4s, 12k I think. As mine broke in i got 29 mpg with a topper on it...21 to 22 pulling an 18 foot boat.

Can you recommend what in your opinion is the most dependable and reliable truck
From the factory, a 2001 Ford F250. Don't buy a new truck. Costs way more than they're worth to buy and fix. You can replace the entire drivetrain on a 20 year old pickup with brand new components and end up spending half the money and have a more reliable, simpler and less expensive to maintain vehicle. Was just talking to my neighbor a few days ago. The tailgate on her '23 Ram 3500 was stolen. Replacement cost $7000, for a tailgate.

Watch enough youtube videos of daves auto center you'll be cured of wanting a new diesel truck.

Just bought an slt myself couldn't make the duramax pencil out for my use though. You got the 6 way tailgate?
Yes. I’d never order some of the extras like the tailgate but I do really enjoy it.

After two years, I’m sold on the diesel engine. I’ve had zero DEF issues with the truck.

I did have a transmission recall that took a few months to repair this summer.

I've had several diesels before with the price of fuel here my fuel costs would have been about the same. I've had plenty of diesel maintenance and repairs bills, ill hold off for now. I hope yours gives you zero problems.
