Oh I completely understand you there... If you want to see some weeds in mine all I have to do is take a picture of my tater and corn patch.. for some reason I can hoe it and within a day it doesn't look touched. This one is solely like this because of my wife.. She likes to keep it squared away. I cant take much credit in it.

This guy took about three or four linear feet off two of my peach trees. My daughter was determined we were going to eat him. My wife won and said it would be bad juju if we ate him. I dumped him 6 miles up the road and tried to convince myself that it was the right decision because he probably had fleas or something obnoxious like that.

I harvested the rest of my radishes and spinach. Now I have a void in my garden, what should I be getting ready to plant in a couple weeks for fall harvest? Zone 5. Our first frost is usually around October 10, give or take.
Weird I'm not that far south as the crow flies. Seems like we haven't had a killing frost til around Nov 5th last few years. Always use to be around Oct 10th to 15th. Little frost on the pumpkin sounds pretty good right now.

Best time of the year when there is a frost on the ground in the morning but it warms to 50s in the sunny afternoon.

I just looked at the usda map and I’d actually be in 4b if I didn’t live a stones throw from the big muddy.

Brussel sprouts
Arugula
Both will root well now and produce better once it starts to cool down. Brussel sprouts are pretty frost tolerant

Pretty good haul today. We were on vacation and there was plenty of veggies waiting for us and a bunch of weeds.
Fruit trees are getting close. I told the young Robin nested in my peach tree he needs to learn to fly quickly. 20220716_114912.jpg20220716_115314.jpg20220716_114921.jpg
