Ok, I didn't know the protocol on species with low draw odds. Thanks

What a fantastic ram, and couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Pretty amazing to hear you drew after we walked around in Reno in January with you resigned that you would probably have to book a hunt if you ever wanted to go sheep hunting.

Congratulations! Your line about needing a 'new #1 bucket list item' is a very fortunate problem to have. I don't know much about sheep, but those horns just seem to be girthy... in a very good way.

Beautiful ram! Congratulations!

[Sask hunter]

Congrats!

[Mule Kick]

Great ram, thanks for sharing! If that thing is only 6 mine must be 3!
If I had to bet I’d say he’s 8+

[Outlaw99]

Such a cool story and absolutely amazing ram. Congratulations

[pabearhunter]

Congratulations on a KING ram.

[Big Fin]

Fo those who are aging him, here's another view. We pulled the roots of his broken off lower incisors and delivered them to Matson's Lab. That should solve which of those lighter rings are growth rings or false rings. And, how much growth was broomed off.

[rogerthat]

I got 8.5 first look but now I see 6.5. That’s a great ram! Congratulations!

Using the Ollin digiscoping system helps a lot on hunts when you are trying to measure the small variances. This was from 600 yards away (line of sight)

It wasn't too long after this image that the group of rams Lee mentioned in his story came off the ridge and Lee made the very affirmative statement, "I'm shooting that one." A very good decision.

[Big Fin]

Lee suggested I add some more of our photos with commentary. Since this is the year we are trying new rifles, Lee brought his own, a Christensen Ridgeline, shooting the load shown on the CDS dial. The GEN 1 VX5 scope is no longer available in the bronze finish.

[Big Fin]

Two nice rams that Lee had the chance to take. Hopefully they've finally caught this ewe by now.

[Big Fin]

Over the course of three days, the temptations were many.

[Big Fin]

Steep is one thing. Saturating rain in this steep country adds another element of slippery that slows you down in a big way. For those in a hurry in this terrain and under these conditions, having an ortho surgeon on speed dial might be in order.
