The hunt codes and tag numbers for each are approved at the May CPW hearing. ant draw tags till that is dome. Add in doing the draw, data quality assurance and there you have it, late May results.

The Sheep and Goat hunts and tag numbers for are approved separate and earlier that Moose, elk, deer, antelope and bear, so results come out earlier.

That part can be less than 48 hours. Once season structure and tag allocations are set and ready for the draw, there is no excuse why it isn't being done within 48 hours. They should probably just look to see what SD does as they rarely take over 48 hours after the application deadline to release the results. If they aren't doing this, the only excuse I can think of at this point is political
 
Wyoming nonresident elk says "hold my beer". Not sure anyone else takes even half as long.

On the plus side, NR's are now able to apply for and receive tags for new commission approved elk hunting opportunities. In the past 100% of those tags went to residents only the first year they were approved.
