Did you have to battle GB v BB thoughts as you watched him??

Im quite certain that Ron and Barry/(Wardy) were there with you in spirit as you squeezed the trigger.

Highly likely the hopzones and uneven ground and using a yardstick were impacting my numbers but I was really trying to be conservative. I 100% tagged my biggest bear tonight. Will never get a MT bear like this again- that I’m sure of.View attachment 369110

Debate is over after seeing GH’s bear.

My brother has my hounds in the valle vidal right now hunting spring bear, had a buddy pull a tag. Havnt heard from them in a few days but I think they have been fighting bad weather. Hope they get a BB treed yet.

I’m still on some post bear hunt adrenaline. The 20-5/8 should hold based on some caliper measurements. True square is 81” long by 93” wide. Pretty fantastic bear for MT, I’m pretty jazzed about it. Upper echelon day in Montana.

Hit him tonight but not as good as I hoped. He’s bleeding well but I jumped him and missed a shot through the trees and backed out for the night to hopefully let him bleed out. Even after the last shot he never ran off just a trot.

Well it would have had to travelled quite some way for it to be the same bear, and based on the fat, I’d say he was too lazy for that walk. I got 61lbs of grind meat, 42lbs packaged meat, 17lbs just packaged fat - and I trim like it’s going out of style.
