This is the first hunt of my 2025-2026 season. Weather did not cooperate much as it rained almost every day while we were out there. Not a single bear spotted on this outing. Not sure if the hot temps, the presence of other hunters/outfitters in the area or the lack of acorns contributed to no bear sightings. My buddy and I glassed during the day, and predator called in the evenings. The highlight of this trip was calling in a mountain lion to approximately 40 yards. I did not have a lion tag, so he walked. Already planning for the next trip. Hopefully the food will be present when I return.
