I had a pretty good steering wheel punching crash out yesterday at the end of a very long day, which included falling on my ass on the ice several times. I had to explain to my idiot coworker that you can’t just loosely wrap a tow chain around one rear wheel (not both) of a pickup that’s stuck with a jackknifed trailer and expect it to do anything other than tear the entire rear quarter panel off. He thought it was a genius idea for makeshift tire chains.
This begs the question of who typically has two tow chains onboard?
Need to know just in case.

Not sure, I typically use a tow strap and real tire chains. Less to turn into a projectile through the windshield if the strap breaks.
Guess i should have asked..two tow chains for makeshift tire chains.
Strap in my truck. No chains...Tundra.
Im too chicken to put myself in a situation these days....been there, done that.

I went with the healthcare guy. Because on the outside he was living a very "normal" life, and just one of those risks that may work out, heck probably has worked out many times in the past, but didn't this time and his life as he knew it came crashing down.

I always figured headcoaches are out in the public eye so much that they are bound to fall hard at times, he certainly isn't the first, the worst, or the last. But you guys make a pretty compelling case.

Three different straps each a different length. And multiple clevises. All sits in a tote in the back of my pickup all winter
