2013 PA Archery Season

As I released the arrow from my Bear Strike compound I knew upon impact that my deer season was over. My mind filled with emotions of excitement for my public land trophy and sadness for no more days in my perch. However, I knew this would mean more time for small game and turkey hunting, bear scouting and hunting, and range time for my upcoming coues deer hunt. This has been a short season for me but one I will never forget and under appreciate. GOD has blessed me with an awesome year in the PA woods! Good huntin'

I'm originally from PA and any public land archery deer is a trophy indeed...

Hunting amongst the crowds on public land does have its draw backs but it has also worked in my favour many times. And with the addition of crossbow hunters to archery season I find far more bow hunters in the woods than ever before. Crossbow hunters accounted for 61% of the bucks taken last year. Unbelievable if you ask me! Antler Restriction has also increased the age and size of our bucks. A tough conversation in our state because we have far more hunters than trophy hunters.
