It’s a 2 ply side wall. Will be curious to see how they hold up.Looks like it says 2 plys on the sidewall, but can't read it well. Right above the bottom cooper. Where it says made in the USA.
Might be a bit of a surprise, but I’m also considering the Firestone Destination MT2. I absolutely loved the set of these that I had on my old work truck. They saw a lot of heavy mud and snow in the Bighorns and Powder River, as well as lots of sharp rocks. They do have a 3 ply sidewall. I had old style Cooper AT3s on my Tundra (back when it was brand new) at the same time, and I thought the Firestones were just as good if not better on packed snow. They kicked ass in deep snow. One of the best tires I’ve ever used. Surprisingly decent highway manners.Thus far the short list is:

That’s the downside. I’m still leaning ST Maxx for mine.I drive a some big highway miles on my pickup, so I’m not sure the Firestone would be the optimal choice.
Thinking the Mickey Thompson and the ST Maxx are my front runners right now.
The ST Maxx won't last as long as an all season with pavement use and doesn't have a mileage guarantee. But, hands down the best tire I have used for getting around the mountains so the mileage thing doesn't concern me. mtmuleyThat’s the downside. I’m still leaning ST Maxx for mine.

My current treadwear warranty didn’t help me much here. I’ve ruined tires before, but the inconvenience level of the last couple has been exceedingly high.so the mileage thing doesn't concern me.
I loved the set I had before. I’m also in the camp of not really caring how many miles I get out of them. My 4runner with 4s and has completely impressed me this winter locally and even in red dirt oklahoma during massive rain storm(truest tire test i know)! While it's not same weight that my diesel that has 3s I havnt yet had a traction related issue, 4s will be going on diesel just before elk season. Cooper does make good tires, good luck.I loved the Wildpeak AT3W but they changed the compound to be a little harder in the AT4W version, which I don’t want for snow and ice. I’m going to get some new tires this fall and I’m probably either going with Cooper S/T Maxx or maybe the new Cooper Stronghold.
