What Sport did you play growing up?

I had more fun playing men’s league softball and basketball. I worked at a sawmill and we had our own ball field. The story of that ballpark is that Lou Gehrig hit a home run so far that no one found the ball, back in the barnstorming days.

Basketball was my sport. Hitting 3’s like snoop hitting a joint!

Played a bit of everything when younger, but by the time I hit HS I concentrated on Football and Track. Linebacker and gunner on special teams and sprinter to 1/4 miler in track. Fished over hard water most of the winter. It wasn't so time consuming in those days we would bring our shotguns to school and get in some hunts after it on the days we didn't have practice and when the season was over.

Soccer and baseball in high school. I was a mediocre player but as the saying goes "the older I get the better I was".

We had teachers who were very interested in how we did. Didn't have lockers in the school for our guns but we might have been allowed had we asked.

Fast forward to my kids age--some 15 years ago some poor kid that forgot to empty his pockets from shooting over the weekend was found with a 22 rimfire shell in his pocket and created a panic.
