You all hanging in down there? Hail, tornadoes and now flooding. Chiggers are going to be terrible. I still have family down there and they are safe but some of you have to be facing some weather related issues. Stay safe and hoping you all catch a break soon. -
65th Conclave
Another congrats to the SFASU Sylvans Club. Champs at the 65th Association of Southern Forestry Clubs Conclave in Florida. We took the tech events and NC put up a great fight in physicals to have an edge there but SFA took all the sawing events !! Way to go and Axe 'Em Jacks !!- wytex

Grinding day
Trying to get some meat thawed out for grinding tomorrow. Elk burger, yes we add 10% beef fat, and pork breakfast sausage. We get our seasonings from a couple of butchers in Texas that we like, German town and the 2 processors there make great products. Should get 50# of burger, some to share...- wytex

Big rain
Checking in with our local folks, did everyone survive the big rain yesterday without too much damage? Our gauge showed 2.87 inches in about 1 1/2 hrs or so. We have some water in the basement but not bad. Casper, Wheatland etc, did you get some big rain too? Really hoping Mullen scar isn't now...- wytex

Well, found this bull dead on our way up to do a little ranch work. Some idiot shot it from the highway. Sadly , the GW left the head attached but it was gone when we came back by, brazen idiots it seems I guess. Shot once in the neck and once in the antlers. Truck in background just shows... -
Big Boy 2022
UPRR's 4014 is hitting the rails again this summer. If you haven't seen it take the time. I would recommend going to a smaller town where it will be stopped so you can get up close and personal, so to speak, with the locomotive. You also need to see it running, find a crossing and watch it go...- wytex

Hunting accident
Anyone hear of the accidental shooting near Mt View I believe ? I know it was somewhere on Western side and it's a real heartbreaker from what I've heard. Prayers to the family involved. -
Bobcat invasion

Last day buck.
Let me start by stating , we have private access that we worked for many years to build with a landowner. Normally we hunt management bucks but this year had access for any deer, one big buck. My phone went off tonight with news of a wildfire in Sybille Canyon. The highway is closed. The ranch we work for my be burning, part of it anyway.
