And they say baiting is too easy, lol Its mostly a game of luck and being in the right spot at the right time. Looks like you might have to hide good and make a full day sit for a few days in a row!! I am headed to West Virginia the second week of October!!
I agree, do a honey or bacon burn and sit really still and spray down good with scent killer. Seems like there is a lot of natural food on the ground up there, Patience might be a big key to get the natural food source used up and then they will be back on your bait.
If you are serious about a Midwest hunt in either Iowa or Missouri, email me and we can talk. It will be an all private land hunt and you will have plenty of area to hunt. Drop me an email at [email protected]
I killed my first Aoudad last month in west Texas on a 10000 acre ranch, There are maybe 15 feeders on this whole place and not a high fence around. I have yet to hunt anything under a feeder except hogs/javelinas. I'm sure the exotics and deer both use the feeders and thats what they are there...
What a better way to get your message out!!! I enjoy hunting and nascar so i guess i am a redneck and its nice to see the money i spend on the NRA membership being used for something i enjoy watching. It will get rednecks attention worldwide!! Just my 2 cents.
We smoked the back straps and 1 hind quarter, it wasnt bad tasting but we over cooked it so it was a little chewy!! Its amazing how fast those Aoudad can go over them mountains, lol
I just killed my first Aoudad on feb 7th near Juno Texas, it wasnt a monster but for an Iowa boy it was exciting. It will make a nice addition to the man cave!!
I just got back from a west Texas Aoudad hunt and there was a pack of 50 or so feral goats running around that lease. My buddy and another guy ended up killing 3 and i got my Aoudad!! They have been around that lease for 25 years or more they said.
