Randy, I was hoping to get some 1st hand info about your equipment. From watching your GREAT vids on your YT channel, I see that you use Leupold spotters. Do you have the GR60mm, or GR80mm scope? I cant really tell because of the cover being on. Other than the obvious diffs does the 80mm jump that much in optical quality or other features, to justify the price diff? Scope weight and money aren't "really" an issue for me, but (for example), Swaros are not cost effective for my needs, as I'm only 3 yrs into western hunting (from Mich). The west has become my new passion so I plan on only buying 1 scope so I want to do it right the 1st time, & both of these Leupolds are in the right price range. I hate to ask you... but there are NO local vendors for me to go see for myself. It will need to be ordered and I will "hope for the best" which I know wont be an issue w/ Leupold. If you get a chance I'd like to talk to you about a bow for elk& antelope for me to try? Looking at future hunts. Outfitter buddy has about a dozen bows laying around, he'd give me one. He knows me and my size and hunting style.Just looking for your input.

Hey Randy, I know you probably get requests alot... I believed I ask you a little about 317 earlier but ive switched gears to 362... ive gotten some bad reviews from there thus far.. im wondering if you could point me in the right direction. I want to take dad up where we aren't going to bump into a lot of people and ride into some nice elk country with some animals.
Any pointers will be appreciated.

I had a dream last night about waking up and the 10 yr proccess I had been involved with regarding the Sierra Nevada Update Plan and getting a thinning permit in an Urban Interface Zone around cabins(2 yr NEPA&ESA) and 1 day into it with equipment in place and FS staff....had been cancelled/stopped by SC,& WEG folks ,same folks I had been at the table with and agreed to the plan 6 mos before.
But the dream was a real life event 8 yrs ago.

That and a pro hunter stance ,he would walk into the WH with 25% of the GOP vote too.
I'm serious. Look at all the folks going to vote for Trump now on this one issue that we both know he is lying about.He would sell his mothers home for a nickle and he is not a hunter .
Just something you Might be able to pass on to the Sanders camp.
I personally believe Sanders and will vote for him regardless in the election. I do not vote against my best interests,or for a party.Never have,never will.

Randy, due to a family death and other illnesses (not mine), my Father and I will not use the 2 non-res antelope tags in Montana Unit 215 this year. I would love to donate to a worthy hunter or organization. Is that possible in MT?

I'm a game warden down in texas. another warden and I have hunted the broadus area several times for deer, but are now wanting to chase elk. I have another LEO friend that hunts the area around the custer NF. I understand that area requires a special permit draw as well. I've see your elk hunt shows several times and its seems they are in the western part by looking at the terrain. my question is, what would you do if you were in my shows if I don't draw the special permit in SE MT? I hate to loose money on a tag i can't use or loose on refund. ive looked at the units in the SW part of the state as back up. I talked to GF office and they said some units just require a general lic. I know zero about the west side. also I wanted to say, love the show. best on tv. im not a fan of outfitting, high $$ leases. I hunt here in texas and its expensive. seems like too many people now of days just want to buy their way to a kill. thanks for any light you can shed.

Thanks for your comment on the thread I started on Mule Deer hunting in unit 410. Are the deer #'s that low or is it just not a good deer unit? were not one of those hunters that like to drive around all day, we like to get up early and will put some miles on the boots to get away from the road. Could you recommend a unit that is close by there that might be better? Last year we went south to Broadus and a really tough time, the blocks of BLM land were hunted out and not a deer to be found on Public lands.

Last year we played an OYOA DVD loop in our lunch area at your Youth Outdoor Activity Day (with your permission) in Alexandria, Minnesota. It was extremely successful with 542 kids in attendance. Yes, 542. This year we expect more than 1,000. Total attendance might go north of 2,000. Is it okay for us to play it again? If you want our powerpoint that gives a lot more detail, I can email that to you easily. -
