  • Hi Randy, I heard you mention your "core workout" on and Elk Talk Podcast that you do during Viking's games and the news. Any chance you could share what that includes with the OYO community? I drive a desk like you do and have fought my way through a lot of back issues over the years. I am interested in what worked for you. Thanks!
I am also wondering if big land owners (ranchers or oil men, Wilks or Kochs) are using their resources to give you a hard time for promoting public land use and DYI hunting and skirting private lands. Just a thought, they have that much pull.

    Good luck & thank you,
    Terry L. Zink
Looks like we have another Spammer. Check out "Outdoor Somebody" in the Rules thread. P.S. Thanks for getting the cooler sponsor for our March Madness bracket. Hope you lose. :)
    Hey Randy,

I was just wondering a in your category "STATE SPECIFIC ISSUES" why have only the states you have listed? You have many people from across the country and other country's for that matter. So why not the rest of the states in that category?

Hmm. Not sure. All states were their previously, or at least when we established that sub-forum. I will try to get the rest of them back up there. Thanks for pointing it out.

Had a great time last night watching your Wyoming elk hunts in central Wyoming.

    Take care

Randy, I was hoping to get some 1st hand info about your equipment. From watching your GREAT vids on your YT channel, I see that you use Leupold spotters. Do you have the GR60mm, or GR80mm scope? I cant really tell because of the cover being on. Other than the obvious diffs does the 80mm jump that much in optical quality or other features, to justify the price diff? Scope weight and money aren't "really" an issue for me, but (for example), Swaros are not cost effective for my needs, as I'm only 3 yrs into western hunting (from Mich). The west has become my new passion so I plan on only buying 1 scope so I want to do it right the 1st time, & both of these Leupolds are in the right price range. I hate to ask you... but there are NO local vendors for me to go see for myself. It will need to be ordered and I will "hope for the best" which I know wont be an issue w/ Leupold. Thanks for any info you can share, and thanks for all you do for the hunting community! Darin (michsteelguy)
    Randy,
I realized you might be busy...taxman.
Just wanted to give you my new cell # 575-888-7155
If you get a chance I'd like to talk to you about a bow for elk& antelope for me to try? Looking at future hunts. Outfitter buddy has about a dozen bows laying around, he'd give me one. He knows me and my size and hunting style.Just looking for your input.
Focusing on mulies this year ,and the ever possible elk.

could you send me a link to the video/thread of your 16e nm bull?

    Thanks, Barry
Hey Randy, I know you probably get requests alot... I believed I ask you a little about 317 earlier but ive switched gears to 362... ive gotten some bad reviews from there thus far.. im wondering if you could point me in the right direction. I want to take dad up where we aren't going to bump into a lot of people and ride into some nice elk country with some animals.
    Any pointers will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ben
    Randy,
I had a dream last night about waking up and the 10 yr proccess I had been involved with regarding the Sierra Nevada Update Plan and getting a thinning permit in an Urban Interface Zone around cabins(2 yr NEPA&ESA) and 1 day into it with equipment in place and FS staff....had been cancelled/stopped by SC,& WEG folks ,same folks I had been at the table with and agreed to the plan 6 mos before.
But the dream was a real life event 8 yrs ago.
Thank You for all you do. You are a bigger man than me,or I'm just more worn down...lol
Randy,I have tried to contact Sen.'s Heinrich & Sanders about his(Sanders) lack of statement of policy in support of our Heritage of Public Lands.
That and a pro hunter stance ,he would walk into the WH with 25% of the GOP vote too.
I'm serious. Look at all the folks going to vote for Trump now on this one issue that we both know he is lying about. He would sell his mothers home for a nickle and he is not a hunter .
Just something you Might be able to pass on to the Sanders camp.
I personally believe Sanders and will vote for him regardless in the election. I do not vote against my best interests,or for a party.Never have, never will.

Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope you have another safe and health filled season this coming year. I was wondering if Fresh Tracks season 3 was available on dvd or just online?

Again Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, good luck this season. Thanks in advance and God bless
    Randy,

    My R700 w/Hogue & Zeiss weight 10lbs...yikes,no wonder it gets heavy,but it's a solid tackdriver.
Any ideas or a link? Hank
PS, I still have a LO bull tag for my place and ten days to go if your down this way...just saying....
Happy Holidays to you and yours!
    Re: Making it Easy.
Is Shrapnel bad news for some of the hotshots on the forum? I have been here for awhile and am just wondering why some of this is sounding like *The Fire.* I haven't seen the gentleman call anybody out so being an old phart I am just wondering.... JMHO is becoming less than class.
Randy, due to a family death and other illnesses (not mine), my Father and I will not use the 2 non-res antelope tags in Montana Unit 215 this year. I would love to donate to a worthy hunter or organization. Is that possible in MT?

Hello any tips on hunting the Missouri Breaks archery elk? Have you thought of doing a archery Roosevelt elk hunt in Oregon? There lots of public land.
