    Sh*t our kids do

Two weeks ago, my son decides to head out to see if he can find a bear to kill, he calls me and says he's stuck, tells me, I can drive almost to where he is, says he can't get it out. Mind you, he has a six inch lift on his Jeep and has a 10k winch on the front and all the gear he needs. He...

    Montana 2025 draws

I drew a 341-50 moose tag, I seen the email from FWP, opened it and couldn't believe it, so I went onto the fish and game site, and sure enough, I got it. I never thought in my life time I'd draw a moose tag here, especially with only nine points, but I guess miracles happen...maybe I should go...

    camper shell or small trailer?

My suburban was the best vehicle I've owned and spent many nights in it camping, bought a 5'x10' trailer and hauled my Honda foreman and my coolers. Did a lot of out of state hunts with that set up.

    camper shell or small trailer?

Depends on the hunt location for me, I have a topper on the truck which I will sleep in, but depends on the hunt. I also have a 30' travel trailer which I use for the later season hunts and love it, I also have a wall tent, which I use for when I can't get the truck and or trailer into where I...

Test your truck battery and check its cables

I have a on board battery tender from noco, my truck doesn't move much and the 5x2 charges and keeps the batteries in good shape. Now if I didn't do that, I'd probably have had to change them by now.

Test your truck battery and check its cables

I just had to replace the batteries in my truck, I noticed it was starting slower than normal. I went to go to work last week Monday, and all it did was went click, I guess that's what I get for being cheap and not buying new ones. But luckily it happened between the archery and general season...

Bugling during a rifle rut hunt?

With the heavy hunting pressure we get here during the general season, bulls are quiet, especially on public lands, and as such, I leave the bugle tube home and only cow call.

    Opening of forestry roads

You'll have to go to the national forest website and look up what national forest you'll be in and it should say there, but it is also dependent on whether they can get to said roads because of snow depth.

    MT- Rifle Opener

In my experience, most bulls and cows will be on private and places most people won't be when the orange army starts. I see this happening towards the end of archery season as we get over ran with people, and when the orange army arrives, it's a complete shit show. Now will there be elk around...

Examples of elk absorbing shots and not acting hit?

I shot a 5x5 two years ago, two times with my 7 mag in the heart and lungs, it kept running like nothing happened, it did drop about 50 yards away, but at first I thought I missed cause it didn't flinch or anything. Now the bull I shot last fall, hit it in the neck and dropped it in it's tracks...

    traction boards

My wife bought me the Maxtrax brand, I was uoset she spent that much, but come the following spring, we take my Ram 2500 cummins she hunting. I hit the one spot and bury my truck to the frame, I had the boards with and I thought I'd break them under the weight of my truck, but surprisingly, they...

    Canceled weekend...Bearing Edition

When I did my f150, it was at about 75k miles too, but I had one that popped right off, the other one, not so much, but with an air chisel and a flat chisel, it didn't put up much of fight. While the bearing didn't take long to do, while I had everything pulled off, I found the ball joints were...
