Californians build house in GNP. FCD demands halt and removal.

I'm surprised it hasn't been burned down.

Test your truck battery and check its cables

I have a on board battery tender from noco, my truck doesn't move much and the 5x2 charges and keeps the batteries in good shape. Now if I didn't do that, I'd probably have had to change them by now.

Test your truck battery and check its cables

I just had to replace the batteries in my truck, I noticed it was starting slower than normal. I went to go to work last week Monday, and all it did was went click, I guess that's what I get for being cheap and not buying new ones. But luckily it happened between the archery and general season...

Bugling during a rifle rut hunt?

With the heavy hunting pressure we get here during the general season, bulls are quiet, especially on public lands, and as such, I leave the bugle tube home and only cow call.

    Opening of forestry roads

You'll have to go to the national forest website and look up what national forest you'll be in and it should say there, but it is also dependent on whether they can get to said roads because of snow depth.

    MT- Rifle Opener

In my experience, most bulls and cows will be on private and places most people won't be when the orange army starts. I see this happening towards the end of archery season as we get over ran with people, and when the orange army arrives, it's a complete shit show. Now will there be elk around...

Examples of elk absorbing shots and not acting hit?

I shot a 5x5 two years ago, two times with my 7 mag in the heart and lungs, it kept running like nothing happened, it did drop about 50 yards away, but at first I thought I missed cause it didn't flinch or anything. Now the bull I shot last fall, hit it in the neck and dropped it in it's tracks...

    traction boards

My wife bought me the Maxtrax brand, I was uoset she spent that much, but come the following spring, we take my Ram 2500 cummins she hunting. I hit the one spot and bury my truck to the frame, I had the boards with and I thought I'd break them under the weight of my truck, but surprisingly, they...

    Canceled weekend...Bearing Edition

When I did my f150, it was at about 75k miles too, but I had one that popped right off, the other one, not so much, but with an air chisel and a flat chisel, it didn't put up much of fight. While the bearing didn't take long to do, while I had everything pulled off, I found the ball joints were...

And here in western Montana, we have a bunch of fires too, plus all the smoke from those and Idaho settling in making life a little uncomfortable.

Is the price of gas hindering your out-of-state or in-state hunt plans?

I deliver fuel part time, and prices went up $0.10 today, and supposedly they're suppose to go back up to what it was this summer. $4.19 unleaded and $4.84 for diesel today.

I need tires, what's the recommendation?

My front end is tight, and surprisingly, the Nitto Ridge Grappler's I have on my truck are doing really good, even with some heavy towing. I've read a lot of reviews about it and it was all mixed, and I've had good luck in all conditions with them. Now a friend of mine, has them on his trail...

I need tires, what's the recommendation?

For snow, maybe, but for anything else, they suck. Granted, they were on my Cummins, and it's a heavy truck, but them dang duracraps wore down fast, and when they were not quite half way gone, they sounded like a full blown TSL bogger going down the highway and they were way too soft to be used...

Big Sky Total Archery Challenge: Registration Today

Saturday time slots sold out in minutes after opening up, then Friday was shortly after that. It's crazy how popular this event is, I was able to get my family registered for all weekend, the wife and I were both on our computers doing our thing and was able to get the time and courses we wanted.

How many days do you rifle hunt specifically for deer in your home state?

I don't specifically chase deer, it's more of a chance encounter while elk hunting. If I see a decent deer and I don't see any elk, I'll change gears and go for said deer, otherwise I don't target deer too much.

    New Tire Opinions

I have them on my truck, so far I'm really liking them. Good traction in all conditions that I've driving in, and I do tow heavy once in awhile and have about 15k miles on them and they still look hardly worn and my truck is a diesel so it's a heavy pig.
