Def preferableDoes it have to be a shorter LOP?
Yes. mtmuleyBillings Scheels just had a 700 ADL .243 on the used rack for like $550, I bet they’d ship between stores. I can see if it’s still there if you want.
Thought about mentioning finding a used model 7. That would fit the bill as well.Personally, if she’s recoil shy I’d stick with the .243 and get a second Tikka .243. Shoot some 95 grain ballistic tips, 100 grain partitions, or most any 100 grain soft points and it will do the job just fine. Nothing wrong with the 7-08 or 6.5 creedbro though. Love those model 7s, especially in .243.Thought about mentioning finding a used model 7. That would fit the bill as well.
I have a gen 2 in 243. It shoots under 1 moa while working loads up for 75 gr Hornady HP, 90 gr ELD-X and 90 Accubonds. I'm using 6.5 Stabil. The only issue is the trigger could be better but is okay if you get used to it. There is a bit of travel and a little heavy, but if you do your part it works fine. Can I ask why?
Chat had this to say:
Attribute 6.5 PRC 7 mm-08 Remington Recoil Moderate–High Low–Moderate ✔ Best Range Long (300 – 500+ yds) ✔ Moderate (0–350 yds) Trajectory Flatter Slightly more arc Knockdown Energy High out past 400 yds Very capable at moderate range Ease of Shooting (Youth) Tougher for recoil-sensitive shooters More forgiving ✔ Ammo Cost & Availability Higher / less common Lower / common ✔ Big-Game Versatility Excellent with correct bullets Excellent and balanced ✔
That American Gen II does look really cool, but I don't know anyone who has one. Does they shoot pretty good?
Her and I's tikka were just threaded and very soon to be suppressed. If suppressed impresses me the way everyone says it's going to, I'll probably make sure the next one is also threaded. While I like the .243 and haven't seen any issues on the killing front. I'd feel better about a bigger hunk of metal making contact.Personally, if she’s recoil shy I’d stick with the .243 and get a second Tikka .243. In that case I’d likely go with the new Ruger Americans. A little rough around the edges, but great shooting rifles. Suppressed 7-08 would be a killer and easy on the shoulder. Her and I's tikka were just threaded and very soon to be suppressed. Even driving to Missoula is probably too much for me to justify. Thanks for the offer.
I haven't been there for a while and it shows. 8.5% added for insurance plus the 3% added for card fees. Crazy stuff nowadays. That adds over $58 to a $500 purchase.

I’m surprised it took this long for 6.5 creed to enter the chat. I know it’s kinda cliche, but that also means there’s tons of factory options in every sporting goods stores shelves and that really isn’t the case with 7-08. That’s why I went 6.5 on my Howa Superlite, even though I think 7-08 might be a touch more versatile, I don’t reload and ammo availability is important to me.I’d grab a tikka another 243 or 6.5 creed. Depending on how old your daughter is and how she handles recoil a 7mm-08 might still be a little sporty for her if not suppressed. Backfire recoil pads work really well
Here’s a tikka off lockedloaded.com. Have it shipped to an FFL in your area and pay the $50 transfer fee. Buy this scope or cruise the classifieds for a scope
I believe that.Just wish weatherby would figure their stock design out. That stock makes recoil way worse than it needs to be.
