This song's lyrics written in 1959, (except the title and final line) are taken almost word-for-word from Ecclesiastes 3:1–8, reflecting on the cycles of life: birth and death, sorrow and laughter, war and peace. This band's cover took it to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of the most iconic songs of the era in 1965.
