My wife has started hunting by herself (while I`m at work) on some property that she gained permission by herself, which is only 6 acres, from a gentlman at our church. In the last few weeks she has taken a doe and two small bucks with a muzzleloader. She doesn`t go much, but she seems to be having alot of luck when she does. She decided to go again on Monday and was about to take the T/C muzzleloader again since she has had so much luck and confidence with it, but I talked her into taking a rifle after I reminded her that she could kill more than one....quick with something besides the T/C. Very libral limits in NC compared to some states. She grabs my 7 mm Mag and said that she wanted to use it! 
That rifle is kinda big for her, but she`s not scared of anything I have in the safe!
Anyway, sure as the world, I get a text at 7am saying..."I think I killed another small buck!" He walked into her shooting lane at 75 yards+/-, she shoots and misses and he jumps in the thicket beside the lane! She puts another round in and says a prayer, after she could barely see his rump just standing there and says..."Lord, please let him turn around and step back out so I can get another shot"! So guess what happens. Immediatly, he turned around and came back out into the lane so she could get another shot, which was true! She didn`t expect any less!
I have had the slowest season in 20 years. Been 26 times in a month and have only seen 6 total deer! However, she is having her best. Remember, she`s not using corn, like the norm in these parts, but she`s just taking her climber and having fun! And she is also eating this up! Between her and my friends relentlessly reminding me that she is killing...and I am not, kinda kills the self esteem, but then again, I`m am very proud of her and hope she keeps on shooting some more. Only does from here on.
Not the biggest buck in the world, but definetly her biggest. 2.5 year old 8pt, 7mm Mag (Browning A-Bolt) using Hornady SST`s.
