My wife and I are set to visit Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons this June for two weeks, this is the first time for both of us and we are pumped! Reservations are set and I have been doing a lot of research on what we want to see.
I do hope for any helpful up to date feedback on recent issues or conditions that would affect us this June. We are there June 1st through 14th staying half of it in west Yellowstone doing the south end and the Tetons, the second half on the north side doing the Lamar Valley and camping near Gardiner MT.
Any tips on the good areas to spinner fish for trout would also be appreciated!

And Mountain Goats on the cliffs near Cooke City.
Such a cool place, is there anywhere else in country you can sit in town and if you look carefully could see deer, elk, 2 species of bears, goats, bison and maybe even sheep or wolves all while eating a ice cream cone...lol

I live in the green zone on that map and I don't understand it, I can see semi-bare mountains out of my window everyday. No one locally thinks pack is anywhere near normal this year but the next weeks forecast may change that and that's all it takes is a solid week of precipitation. Usually early June you can move around anything low, all park entrances open just more remote roads at elevation or north facing (i.e. grassy lake) might still be drifted. My daughter and I typically do a grizz glassing trip up a local ridge in early July as thats soonest we can get thru all north facing piles to get to our spots, my guess is we will be able to do it in late june this year. Expect to see all 4 seasons some days that time of year but it's also when scenery is most beautiful, we have family visiting same time frame so hopefully weather is nice.

On your visit to Lamar, make sure you leave enough time to enjoy the trip to the summit of the Beartooth Pass.

Should be open, but definitely mostly snow that time of year. Might see the summer ski area open.

Pack a ton of patience. Busy and crowded then.
Expect traffic jams any time there are animals to be seen from the road. It is just part of the experience. There were also construction delays in Lamar Valley in 2025.
Worth persevering.
Ditto optics. I think a lot of folks miss the bear farther off while watching a pronghorn on the road.

Use the search function and find the 4 page thread on YELLOWSTONE PARK IN JUNE. Many of us familiar with Yellowstone posted some helpful information in that thread. It would be worth your time to read it.

Enjoy YNP; get on the trails. The adventure begins where the road ends!
