Hey guys, I’m trying to target perch through the ice. I’ve caught some during the summer as incidental catches to bluegills. However, I want to try targeting them now. What are some good techniques, baits, depths etc. I stay mainly in northern Colorado front range (I’m in Loveland) so most of the lakes here are reservoirs and the depth varies pretty well. Thanks!

I like to use a bobber with a minnow on one rod and a smaller jig on the other rod. When not marking fish, I like to pound the bottom. This usually brings in curious ones. If they are not biting, DOWNSIZE!

Small Aberdeen hook and split shot? I can get some small fathead minnows here.
I’ve used bigger hooks in a pinch, so small red ones should work great.

BTW, I assumed you knew this but I figured I’d add it, perch like to be within a foot of the bottom. Also, they tend to swim in schools so they come by in waves. Don’t be surprised to have action, then nothing for 15-20 minutes and then action again.
