Wyoming Girl, 12, Stuns With One-Shot Kill From 600 Yards To Bag Huge Elk

Maybe file a grievance with the Wyoming newspaper on their content choices.

I liked reading it. Only bummer about it is there’s just more and more people out there with good equipment that know how to use it. Poor animals just have a hard time getting away anymore. At least they have some private land to enjoy.

Carry on with the sniveling..

Dads a gunsmith and routinely practices that far. I am sure there are kids capable of shots like that. Good equipment, data from shooting, a calculator, and understanding is all that it takes beyond good shooting skills.

Doesnt mean all of the people reading this can or should do that. I think some long range shooters, and perhaps this journalist, kind of make it akin to "8 mile packout" and other feats of manhood, but its sort of the opposite. It doesnt take much but some math to turn a dial. It should be about the terrain, cover, wind, etc.

I have never lost an animal with a rifle. I know people who have lost several. I have passed shots i could probably make, but why should that animal chance a suffering death? Articles like this tend to make people think "if she can, i can" instead of what people should think "do i have a near certain probability of a lethal hit and recovery."
I'm curious how many animals you've harvested with a rifle, given you haven't lost one?

I’ll wear a wig and sit to pee if you take me elk hunting.
I saw one elk on public land this year, twice. And was out 15 or more different days looking. You’d do better with @shrapnel.

Did have good days with both kids hunting elk.

While dodging bullets on Norris road, my daughter loaned me her mittens. Only a few hours earlier when she saw my coat - she said “You’re wearing Sitka?!?” I said ”Yeah why?” She says, “Don’t you know that everybody who wears that is totally gay?”
