Wyoming Elk Region W

No such thing as a "free resident guide license to take non residents into a wilderness area legally" in wyoming.
This is absolutely, unequivocally, 100% incorrect. My buddy got one last year so I could go in the wilderness with him to hunt elk. This has been permissible for longer than the first time I asked WGF about it, which was 1996.

Wyoming Resident looking for someone with a Wyoming Region W elk tag that might want to go 10-12 miles into the wilderness on horseback for archery or first rifle. This country is heavily populated with Grizzlies. I did this hunt last season solo, without stock, only a few miles in and shot a bull on opening morning. Bit off more than I could chew and rented horses to pack him out. Hadn’t been on a horse but once before, so that was a whole adventure in itself haha. Being in G bear country quartering an elk without someone watching your back is something I’d like to not do again if I can prevent it. I’m looking for someone who wants an adventure and preferably knows their way around stock. I plan on hunting 6-8 days. This is also an area that for a general unit has the potential to produce some real quality bulls. I’m looking for something around the 320” mark unless it comes to the last couple days. If this sounds like something you’re up for send me a pm. Thanks!
I wish I could go this year, but am game for next year.

How’d your hunt go?

Short version truck getting tranny and I settled for a 14" buck (so nervous with rental car and my luck recently). Still got trailer in nevada, truck in southern Idaho with hopeful completion date of 11ish september(mechanic is off to elk hunt for next week). Link above will show you a medicore $15k pronghorn...lol. could of been worse, filled tag and nobody hurt just cash and scheduale headaches.
