Wyoming Elk - hardest draws

I agree that the public land that can be reached is pressured hard but there are some great bull, you just cannot get to them unless you pay or have contacts. My sons brother in-laws family ranchs that area and they kill 350+ bulls every year. They primarily hunt with bows and the largest bull was close to 390. But they have it least out to an outfitter so the family is the only ones that hunt it. The chamber of commerce in Douglas has a book that list land owners and contacts for those proving access through fees and guided hunts.

I have hunted this unit 4 times and every year i have seen bulls 330 to 360 on public lands, unfortunately seeing and getting on them is another story. You have a chance on gettn a great bull but you would have to put forth the work to get where they are!! A guide may be a better option, this area is VERY RUGGED and you don't want to accidentally trespass on on private land.
