It isn't but this is one of the harsher punishment I've seen in a while. This guy definitely got the "poaching" book thrown at him. A lot better than what we see a lot of those poaching influencers get.
This guy clearly didn't have the same legal team as Muley Freak or the Bowmars... These influencers not only poach but make money, sponsors, gear, etc., off of it and usually get sweet deals when caught, double win!!! Poaching is complete BS, but even when it comes to it, regular people who do it quietly for themselves get harsher punishment than "celebrities" who prostitute wildlife for personal gain, which is pretty much how everything else goes...

I am willing to bet there are thousands who are gaming the system. Unless someone rats you out, the odds in getting caught are pretty rare.

There was a guy from Utah a couple years ago that got nailed. He had gotten 8 resident deer tags and 13 resident elk tags before someone ratted him out.
