WY Preference point question

Just wondering if I get a license in the draw this year can i also buy a pref point in july when they come out or is it can I only do one or the other. And will this work for other species of game.

I actually called them today with some questions of my own and the guy I talked to today was friendly and helpful and had no problem at all talking to an 'out of stater'

You can't earn a point if you draw a 1st choice license. Same rule for all species.

Ok so what if I applied for a zone that is almost impossible to attain for my first choice then a almost gaurntee zone for second choice then could I purchase a preference point in july.

You have a preference point option on the application if you are unsuccessful with your first choice. So you can do what you suggested and gain a point...you just wouldn't have to buy it in July.
