WY buck

I've had a 2nd choice deer tag in WY three of the last four years, but have always been too picky. Because I haven't killed a mule deer since 2005, I decided to be less selective this year. Then I fooled around and only got to hunt the portion of the region I prefer for three days.

I went back up earlier this week to catch the tail end of the later hunt. I saw lots of hunters, lots of deer, but few bucks bigger than forkhorns. When I found this guy yesterday afternoon, I decided my patience was over. Sorry, the photos leave something to be desired. But I was fighting many issues that made getting good shots difficult, the biggest being me thinking about the impending pack out of that hole.
