wildfire in New Mexico GMU 37

The Wildfire is still burning uncontained in the Capitan Mountain Wilderness NE of Capitan village. Around 4,000 acres this morning. We had really high wind last night and it has been very dry. There are some major road closures. Hopefully they will get it contained soon. Sorry for the bad news....thought I would give a heads up.

I have a tag for the unit South of there again this year hopefully things get better. I thought you guys had been getting good moisture. Hadn't looked in a while though. Hope it gets contained soon.

We’ve already had 3 lightning strike fires get snuffed out here in SW CO. 155% snowpack doesn’t mean anything anymore. It just sublimates straight into the sky.
