I caught the Alaska episode as well as the Missouri Breaks episode this weekend. I thought he was off to a good start with the Alaska episode, but he kind of lost me with his Missouri Breaks episode. Seemed rather odd the way he found a half butchered pronghorn and decided the meat wasn't spoiled. No mention of contacting F&G to tell of the wanton waste. Is it even legal to take the meat without a tag or getting a signed waiver from F&G? I can't imagine having venison in my pack without having a tag for the animal...and even better coming across a F&G officer and explaining the sitiuation. I'm sure that would go in my favor

I dunno like I said the first episode was fun, but the second was kind of out in left field.

fowladdict,

I don't think there are many productions who wouldn't/don't contrive drama for effect. I remember a chopper build-off between Billy Lane and Dave Perewitz where they rode these outlandish chops to the rally site for the final judging. Lane's seat supposedly burst into flames and he had to put it out in 'on the road'. I was wondering ow many takes (and seats) it took to get it right.

I had a something like that happen this morning. Evidently I hit the Heated seat button in the King Ranch. I always like to keep the Wife's pushed, she thinks it's a Hot Flash from Hell! John

yea i was a little disappointed in that episode. I will give them one more chance to redeem themselves before I cut'em from my tv watching

I am with you fowl, I was disappointed too. At times I thought I was watching an episode of
"man vs wild". Next week he is in Hawaii, hunting boar with a knife...not thrilled about that either.

I agree with the consensus, in that that first show was better than the past one. Too much time spent trying to make the boat. However, I will say, the show is leaps and bounds, IMO, ahead of many of the regular hunting shows/channels in its showing of the care and consumption of the meat. I think this is something that is not aired nearly enough.
