Wife and I always spend veterans day together deer hunting, we hunt lots of other days, veterans day has been lucky for her last few years
we spent 6 different days hunting and 31.4 gps miles on the boots looking for a great buck, she has taken a 186 gross mulie and a couple 150 whitetails in east Montana,,,
this year I only scouted one 170 class buck, my son missed him during youth season, haven't seen him again until last night about 6 miles from where he was earlier,
any way, back on track, leave truck real early to hunt a block management /blm property, wind bad I told her were gonna blow out most of the deer on the flats and they will be in the steep stuff, she wasn't fond of the idea,
2 hours after daylight no decent bucks, after some glassing out in a little patch of grass I see horns, lots of them,i thought,,,,,,
spent long time crawling got to about 300 yards, used the doe bleat call, 8 does got up and this buck got up,,, I gave her the range told her not to look at horns and shoot,,,
1 shot 260 rem does it again, I told her you just shot one hell of a buck,,,,
little surprised when we walked up on this buck, he had a big tumbleweed stuck in his horns, hence points everywear I thought,
anyway a cool buck 9in circumference on the bases, testicles were the size of peanuts and the velvet on the bases was bloody were he had been rubbing,,
boned him out and a 2 mile walk she was happy, gonna do a euro mount biggest bases ive seen,,,
last year I took a 28in wide heavy buck in the same area, that buck had very tiny testicles also, wonder what is the odds of that,,,
