Oh Hell. Just sitting around and wondering "Why Not". I've been down sizing in caliber and OOOMPH since I was in my 30's. As the years go by, I just seem to not find the justification in power over precision.

SOO !!

Any input on a good 250/3000 and where I can find one ?

250/3000 is an awesome bullet. I have a buddy that has one and I shot my first mule deer with it when I first moved to Colorado. It's got plenty of knockdown power...watched his son drop an elk with it...and the recoil isn't very bad at all...it was less than my 30-06. His was an old one in lever action.

If I were searching for a mild .25 caliber, I'd choose the .257 Roberts. It will do anything the .250/3000 will and more. Kimber was chambering it a year or two ago. I had one for a time in Model 77 Ruger, and was having one custom-built but the gun-maker gave the rifle to his son!
