Just curious who's been out playing in the snow and what's been seen?

Surgery has kept me stuck at home so far, but hopefully can make it happen in the whole two weeks left of our ridiculously short season.

I went out on the snowmobiles last week to see if I could cut any tracks and get a ride in. The snow was incredibly deep. I think most are still sleeping. My friend had some tracks around his job site in Big Sky and some other friends cut tracks a few weeks ago, so I know there are some out and about. My brother called me from Alaska and had a friend kill a one. He said they still had a foot of snow on their lawn though.

Not yet. dang work. In a couple of weeks a bud and I are gonna fly over to beluga and see if we can knock over a brownie.

Who knows, it will sure beat the crap out of working anyday of the week.

been out looking around the last few weekends. we found our first set of tracks last weekend and its been in the 50s this week so i think they may start waking up soon around here

I haven't done any bear hunting for a Couple years. My boy came of age this year and I'm gonigto try to get him one.....

Saturday is gonig to be my first day out. By Mid May.... I'm calling BEAR DOWN :D :D

Good Luck Moose. My friend finally saw a bear on the job site yesterday. He said it was a little guy. I hope the weather starts getting better.

Been a little tricky in MT this year but we have been finding some........we shot two so far (have seen 9). I almost had a dandy saturday but the bastard was just a shade quicker than I as he hit the thick stuff right as the safety went forward. Saw a real pretty chocolate on saturday too but just wasn't quite big enough for what I was looking for. My buddy shot at a MONSTER last week too but was ..................just a bit outside:)

Here is a picture of a trip we went on last week to find a spot :

Have I said I'm excited to get out again ?

I borrower this one because we're goingto take my oldest boy. I know I'm bullet proof and have no fear, but when it comes to the safety and life of my kids.... Another story.

Finally got out yesterday, got rained on all day but saw one itty bitty black and an alright chocolate that was too far away for me to worry about. No snow to worry about and lots of bear candy. Beat the hell out of sitting in a hospital bed.

What do you mean no snow to worry about I seem to remember a slight issue.
We should go try to find the chocolate bear on Monday if your feeling up to it.

Yeah.... got a little greedy on the way out and tried to take a shortcut. Doesn't look that bad from this, but there's 6" of suspension lift and 35" tires under there somewhere.

Sh!t happens just be glad you had enough cell service to call dad to have us come help dig that beast out.

I've only been out a couple times, and finally saw bears, 2 of them. I had some good luck and made it to the larger of the two, which I knew was a extremely good one for where I was hunting. My girlfriend spend all day yesterday helping me skin, debone, and pack the animal out. She carried 50lbs out, 6-7 miles, lots of off-trail, and snow shoeing required. Here's some photos and a video clip just before I went after him..
