Watched a new mother wrangling 3 fresh fawns yesterday for about 20 minutes. Haven't witnessed that before - so I wonder how frequently triplets happen?

I sure hope she succeeds in raising them up - can't imagine the effort & skill it'll take to do so, even in a country setting outside of town.

fairly unusual but not just crazy rare. I had a doe and three fawns on trail cam a few years back

Haven't seen it in a long time. Have seen it on two occasions iirc. That's a good sign.

We had two does with triplets a couple years ago that we watched all summer. We had a particularly easy winter that year. Doesn’t happen often in the north country.

I see that maybe every other year. But I see alot of deer where I live. On my way home last night I saw about 50 in soybean fields. Pretty typical when the deer are hitting ag fields. Had to stop about a half a dozen times for deer to get off the road. Twins are commonplace.

I saw a three legged doe throw triplets 4 years in a row in western PA back in the late 90's.

What I've heard is that if a doe has triplets she's very healthy. My brother has had those B4 on his place

I've seen it a couple of times. I'd like to know how often it happens naturally vs a doe basically adopting one.

This doe dropped three 2 years in a row. She was successful getting them all to their first fall.

I've encountered one doe with triplets while hunting. That was the day before a hurricane and all kinds of animals were moving.
