What’s this part called? Winchester 1890 22 heirloom repair

I Just received from my uncle a family heirloom 22 Winchester model 1890 , and it’ll be great for teaching my 7 year old to shoot. Upon trying it out the slide action was very sticky so I took it apart to clean it, as there was probably still cow manure in it from hanging at dairy farm…

anyway there is a piece with hairline fracture in what appears to be the feeding mechanism. It’s a pump action 22 with rounds stored below the barrel.

Can anyone help me name this part?

and even better can anyone point me in the direction of where to source parts?

Turns out it’ll be a learning to repair guns before I can learn the kids to shoot order of operations.

Looks like you are covered, but post again if you run into a wall. That is a great rifle and one that deserves to be used often.

Mine is a Short only, but converted to long rifle.

I have my g grandfather’s 1890 in 22 WRF. 22 WRF is longer than a 22 Mag.



We still use. Carry Kerg’s rifle checking our trap line.

Might be another option if you can not find the part. Great old rifle.

hello all, im having an issue with an 1890 too, I put a new barrel on it, it was chambered in 22 short , the new barrel came in and says its for a model 90-06 chambered in 22 short, long, and long rifle. i honestly didnt pay attention to that. I believe I ordered it from jack first or from numrich. anyway the problem im having is if i run longs in the feed tube, first will chamber and awaiting round gets bent, if i run shorts, first round chambers , second one jams. nothing is holding the cartridge back in the feed tube? suggestions?
