Mustard as a binder and cover with a bbq rub
Smoke low and slow @ 150°-165° till internal temp hits 135-140. Apply my glaze and put back in at 250° till internal hits 145°. Cover with foil and let sit for 30 minutes.
Takes all day but worth it!

Probably jammed with pellets that got wet and then caked up.If I keep bringing stuff home from the dump maybe my wife won’t make me do the garbage anymore. I plugged it in and the fans work, the heating element is working, but the auger is not turning. It’s pretty dirty in the auger channel so I’m thinking maybe it’s just jammed. It shouldn’t be to hard to fix. View attachment 415163
That’s what I’m guessing too.Probably jammed with pellets that got wet and then caked up.

Those models also have a cotter pin between the motor and auger that shears easily. That’s what I’m guessing too.
Last fall I found a traeger at the same dump. The firebox was bad in it. As long as you can get a knock off part they are cheap. this motor looks exactly like the one in a traeger. I have 2 traegers and now this pit boss. I think I may have a problem. Those models also have a cotter pin between the motor and auger that shears easily.
The auger motor could be bad, but since the fan is running that’s unlikely. If it is, they are only $25 on Amazon.
Pellet grills are super easy to work on. I had a Green Mountain that lived outside for 20 years uncovered most of the time. I replaced almost every part on it at least once and only quit when the bottom rusted out. Even then I rolled it to the curb and a guy in my neighborhood took it and reinforced the bottom and it’s still going today.
Maybe you can sell the two others and put it towards a cabinet style? That is if you have a use for one.Last fall I found a traeger at the same dump. The firebox was bad in it. Are the cabinet smokers superior to a pellet grill for smoking? If so how/why, etc.Maybe you can sell the two others and put it towards a cabinet style? That is if you have a use for one.
Dam I was hoping I could enough for a couple cases of Spotted Cow!Maybe you can sell the two others and put it towards a cabinet style? That is if you have a use for one.

No I dont think so just different applications. Can't sear on the cabinet or get the high temp. But for making jerky or summer sausage its definitely better just simply due to the amount of space. I personally like having the cabinet for smoking larger volumes of stuff, for grilling i like using the weber charcoal. I know everyone has different preferences for that. If money wasn't an object I'd definitely have both. Are the cabinet smokers superior to a pellet grill for smoking? If so how/why, etc.
