What Would It Take for Hunters to Rebel Against the North American Wildlife Conservation Model?

The sad thing is that there is a great opportunity to put more critters on the map and ease the pressure, but my own people (farmers, ranchers, ag production) will hang me for even discussing slowing down ag production even if it means less work and more money for them.

I bet I get in an argument once a week with guys about taking acres out of production, or switching them them to something else.

Rebellion? No, but I have a hard time understanding why any nonresident starts hunting out west under present and worsening circumstances. I am going to wind down and quite possibly out of it over the next 20 years whether I want to or not, and nobody in my current or future family lineage will likely ever replace me.

I would find better things to do (pelagic big game fishing?) if I was only starting out today. For the amount I pay for applications, I could bring home some nice tuna and swordfish each year while still hunting all the whitetails, bears, turkey, ducks and other small game I want.

But.....elk 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yup that conversation is a dead end.
