What Sport did you play growing up?

Shooting is a sport. Football is just a game. Seems like they started writing about the games as though they were sports when adults began to play childrens' games for a living?

Anyhow, for sports, it was archery, wrestling and mountain biking.

Nice. My Grandfather had a 1964 Impala. My Father actually bought it new. Red on red. Just a 283 Powerglide car. Was supposed to get it but family rears it's ugly head. A 1959 Impala and a 1954 Bel Aire disappeared also. mtmuley
Breaks my heart hearing that.

This 62 is actually a Montana car. Guy bought new right out of HS. Obviously moved here but was a Legend to us kids. I started work as a gear head then took a 30 year odyssey that still amazes me. However, cars, restoration therein has been my hobby forever.

He passed. Left this to 1 one son. Was put unto storage and left. All they asked was put it on the street like my dad loved. Song and dance later, I'll do that. Gotta do him right though.

Football til middle school, basketball and baseball through the end of high school. Basketball was fun but baseball I loved. Played 3rd and backup catcher until jr year when I moved to 1st.

Baseball and state championship basketball. Played baseball until I blew my elbow out summer after high school. Not enough future to fix it.

Soccer in my youth. Football DE in middle school n high school, Rugby some of high school and after for a local team, won under 19 nationals, got selected for the Texas Select Juniors, then played rugby in the Marine Corps until I got married; rugby n marriage aren’t a good combination

I played soccer from second grade to twelfth. Ymca basketball..5'11" center😂, lacrosse in high school, college club lacrosse.
I never liked team sports, mediocre athlete.
I achieved much more challenging myself...telemark skiing, mountain biking, peak bagging, and all the other Montana outdoor pursuits.

Wrestled from 5yo-HS, played baseball from Tball to Legion, loved baseball, but was better at football. Went to college on a football scholarship, only to remember I hated school and it turns out you can’t spend every day hunting and trapping after football season. I guess they want you to go to school too which I declined to do.

8 man football, basketball, and track in high school. Track and XC in college. Earned a few accolades and it paid for my school. Running was my life for a few years but now im too prideful to compete and be slower than I was. I miss the way I used to feel clicking off the effortless miles but glad to have more free time in the fall now.

Quit playing baseball when I was 9 or 10 because I didn’t like how much it cut into summer camping and fishing

Shot a lot of trap in high school, wish I would have had the resources to really pursue it more

I wish that was available when I was a kid. That wasn't the norm for any of us. My kids homeschool. But they are already on a youth archery league and im hoping to get something started for trap shooting in the coming years through 4H. They're only 5 and 7 now so it'll be a few years.

Football and throwing events in Track in HS. Played a season or two of “semi-professional” ( amateurs past their prime) football in the Rocky Mountain Football League for the then Helena Titans.

Wish I’d have wrestled but was too lazy.

Baseball, football and ski racing from middle school through all of high school. Played one year of small college football and then found rugby and spent the next 12 years of my life chasing that oval ball across the country and globe. Played three years of college rugby, followed by seasons in England and NZ, along with a lot of seasons here in NW CO as well as men’s clubs in Texas and Chicago. Good times.

The lack of archery in the school is something that really disappoints me in my local school system for my son. He’s only 4; maybe I can figure out a way to get that changed before he’s in jr high/high school
