What are your 2025 Hunting Plans

(Sort of in order)
ID mountain goat (daughter's tag)
ID archery gen deer (semi-serious...have a few interesting bucks hanging around near me that I'll try for if they hang around)
UT rifle cow elk (burned points due to price increase)
ID deer (twin daughters and wife)
UT rifle gen deer with buddies (burned points due to price increase)
ID cow elk (controlled hunt for me...2nd draw success)
ID cow elk late draw tag for sister-in-law's first hunt
(maybe) MO youth deer on a recent property acquisition
UT rifle doe antelope
NM aoudad
ID mountain lions (friends/family probably will not kill any this year, just run them)
Mixed in with local bird hunting

Obviously the main tag is the goat tag...if she fills that, the rest are bonuses. Our family eats a ton of meat.

Adopt me...

My 2025 plan has one simple goal: I've come up empty on last 2 elk hunts, I don't want to go 3 strikes in a row. And last elk I shot was in 2019. ANY LEGAL BULL is therefore in trouble. It's a 3rd choice tag. A cow may be in trouble later in the hunt. A mule deer buck on same trip would also be a nice cherry on top but if I have to choose 1, it's an elk, pretty much any elk.

Now that's a pile of tags! I really need to plan a lion hunt. Sounds like you're going to be busy for a few months.

Thanks, I'm excited. Once I wrote them all out, I realized it is quite a few. I'll be busy for sure. The majority are non-trophy type hunts and should be a lot of fun. Lions are one of my favorites.

As luck would have it, two of my UT tags are smack in the middle of their largest wildfire, so those should be interesting...

My plan for this year is to do better and learn more then I did last year I also wanna hunt a bit more then last year and learn how to hunt different things like rubs and trails and scrapes I also wanna experiment with stands or a blind I wanna zero my rifle farther I wanna shoot it a bit more and I wanna hunt in the snow or freezing cold (always seemed really cool just wish me luck on not getting frost bite)

MO Oct doe season
MO nov buck season
MO nov cwd season
MO dec doe season
MO Jan doe season.
Seems like a good amount of seasons to learn about and to hunt. Good luck everyone on you're hunts

Do you run your own hounds?

There has been some fires popping up where I'm going to hunt in WY but so far nothing too close to where I plan to hunt! You're going to need another freezer or two at this rate!!

Idaho elk, deer, lion, wolf, turkey and coyotes.
As usual I will be in the recliner drinking coffee with binoculars, spotting scope and rifle at the ready if I see an animal I want. No sense freezing outside.

New job begins Sept 8th. Heart procedures Sept 26 & Oct 26. Was fortunate to not draw anything this year. Whitetail hunt Illinois November with my new xgun because doc says I should not draw my bow until wire in artery heals. Have no idea if new job will allow me to hunt much.

😂 2025, the lost year for me. Will have to wait until 2026 to burn points. But not complaining because I need the job bad. Will claim SS in eleven months.
Best of luck on your procedure! Hope it goes well.
