Waterfowl opener

Nice! By the way, Deadfowl makes a honker dummy that was really helpful at getting my last dog to retrieve geese correctly. Blue Wing Teal are one of the finest roasting ducks out there.

Nice work on the woodies!

Pretty rare to shoot them in MT, I've only shot two my entire life and one of them resides in a glass case in my office.

Great pictures as always!

Looks like an awesome time! We only get to shoot the small ducks in south Alabama. It is great day here when we shoot a big duck.

I should have went out this weekend. My dogs are giving me the cold shoulder since I ditched them and went chasing elk again. But ditch parrots are in their future.

mtmiller,
Here's a report from the western part of the State;

This was my 33rd year at the same blind on public water in SW Montana. My wife and I were joined by our oldest daughter and her husband. One of our other son-in-laws and his father also made the opener. Among us all we knocked down a couple limits of ducks. A good time was had by all.

Day break:

Sow and cub griz came through camp during the night within 10 feet of my daughter's tent!
