Unknown Suppressors OG Experience

How come you don’t hear much about the AB Raptor? I have 2 and they’re pretty great. Both mine are the 6 spiral with a 3” reflex (over the barrel) mount. Only adds 5.5” to barrel length. It’s a pretty good combo for light and enough blast chamber.
I’ve got a Raptor 8 w/3” reflex as my only can, and it is phenomenal. I’ve shot it next to some other high end suppressors too.
But with the reflex it’s in the 13 oz range. Would like to try that OG 6.5 to lose some length and weight.

I like the idea that the Raptor can be used with or without the reflex.

dudes trying to show how smart and edgy they are by going against the RS grain by calling into question anything that U.S. does.

I booked a dream build 22 Creed with UM as I heavily drank the KoolAid but nearly every single aspect of that rifle was FUBAR. Their lead Gunsmith knew it but shipped it out anyway. After I made a hugely restrained stink about their QC they rolled out the Red Carpet QC BS that didn’t help much of anything.

I also recently purchased suppressor QD adapters from SRS (same building and also the ones that machine the suppressors I believe). The threads were out of spec and I had to spin off my barrel to ship to my gunsmith to clean up after it got stuck…

So yeah I think I’m done with UM. Amazing creative ideas with zero quality execution IME. I’m sure if you’re an influencer you get actual QC but regular guys get to roll the dice. No thanks.

The AB’s are probably the best suppressors I have heard and the A10 is the best suppressor you can buy for the money imo. @Carl covered it pretty well but I have an OG65 and it is great for the overall size, weight, and sound reduction. It is at least as quiet as my gen 1 ultra. The only thing I’ve noticed is that it does have more first round pop than most of my other cans.

I’ve shot with a guy at a couple NRLs with an 8 or 10 stack raptor and at least 3” reflex and that big donkey D sounds freaking fantastic. It’s just not as light.

Same story here. I could pick his suppressor out from a couple stages away. Was a 10 stack with a 5” reflex. Hands down the best sounding suppressor I’d ever heard

I wouldn't send a build to UM either. Cliff (the partner with Unknown Suppressors) seems quite different than Jake. Doesn't come across as a salesman at all. Seems very humble and measured.

That's a bummer to hear about the SRS adapters!

I've seen some recent sound measurements where the Raptors weren't particularly impressive or unimpressive but I'm not sure if I've been around a can that sounded better to me as a bystander.

...following, trying to figure out what I wanna screw on the 7PRC Seekins.
I’ve shot 160 or so rounds and 5 animals this year with a Seekins 7PRC through the Nomad TI XC and it’s been great. If you have any questions, let me know.

The can on my wife’s rifle is really heavy and will likely live on an AR after I buy another lightweight direct thread can for her. I go back and forth on the OG, OG6.5, and Airlock 7/6.5. If I was to buy one today, it would likely be the Airlock, but my mind could change tomorrow.

OTB intrigues me, but it seems like the Airlock has negated the need for that with its size and weight, with better suppression, and you don’t have to worry about barrel diameter or adapter size not fitting inside the can. I read a thread about a guy who was having terrible issues with adapters fitting inside the OG6.5.

I would also buy a second Nomad TI XC in a heartbeat, and have considered doing so, but I’m a bit of a gear junkie that likes to try/test different stuff..

Thank you...

The Airlock cans are intriguing, don't know about the tech but they seem to be doing something right.
Somebody needs to buy one and report back. This is the one my research has led me to on my 6.5....just haven't pulled the trigger yet.
